CTV Announces Broadcast Details for Santa Claus Parade

CTV announced today broadcast details for The Santa Claus Parade.   The 90-minute broadcast airs Sunday, Nov. 20 from 5:30-7 p.m. AT on CTV Two Atlantic, in the rest of the country from 4:30-6 p.m. on CTV, CP24 and CP24.com, and on the go via CTV Mobile equipped cell phones.  Viewers can relive the highlights of the parade on demand on CTV.ca and the CTV iPad App following the broadcast.

Nearly four million unique viewers watched the parade last year on CTV and CP24, and for the second year in a row, CTV is the exclusive broadcast partner of the 107th annual holiday parade - the world's longest running children's parade. Santa's helpers, CTV Toronto's Ken Shaw and CP24's Melissa Grelo, return as hosts, while new to this year's broadcast are special reports from ETALK's Traci Melchor from along the parade route. Also new this year, The Santa Claus Parade broadcast will feature a rare visit by Mrs. Claus in her very own float just ahead of Santa. Viewers will also enjoy exclusive Canadian yuletide greetings from some of the biggest stars in entertainment: Michael Bublé, Russell Peters, Kim Cattrall, Avril Lavigne and Enrico Colantoni, plus Debra Messing, Nick Carter, Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Demi Lovato and Kermit the Frog, to name a few.

CTV takes viewers inside The Santa Claus Parade as more than 100 crew members, 12 cameras and the CTV chopper work together to give those at home the best seat at the parade. This year viewers can enjoy more than 25 animated floats with themes ranging from Harry Potter to The Muppets, approximately 2,000 costumed participants, live bands, clowns, personalities, and of course - Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

CTV's cross-promotional resources support The Santa Claus Parade broadcast with ongoing stories on parade volunteers, behind-the-scenes footage from Santa's workshop, and fun facts on float building on CP24, CANADA AM, CTV News and ETALK.

In addition to on-air support, CTV has brought back santa.ctv.ca - a special website where visitors can watch CTV News stories on the event and preparations and check out this year's new extended parade route. Brody Jenner, Avril Lavigne's Bloody Club Brawl: What Happened?

So what provoked a violent brawl involving Avril Lavigne and beauBrody Jenner (photographed early Monday with a bloody forehead) at a Hollywood club?

It's complicated.

Both the singer, 27, and her reality star man, 28, tweeted late Monday about sparring with other revelers while out and about. Citing a black eye, bloody nose, bruises, cuts and ripped-out hair, Lavigne explained "I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is f----ed."

Added Hills alum (and Kim Kardashian's stepbrother) Jenner: "Interesting Saturday night... Just got of the hospital with a new scar on my face."

One source tells Us the fight went down at Beacher's Madhouse, where Lavigne got into "an argument" with another woman.

Explains a second source: "At first, the girl called Brody something and that set Avril off so she talked s**t back to them."

Observing the tiff, "Brody came over aggressively and got involved," the first source explains, adding that another man came to defend Lavigne's sparring partner. "They were scuffling on the floor...Brody was the aggressor and had five guys with him. When they finally got up Brody was bleeding."

Although many reports say Jenner was struck with a broken bottle, the first source says, "There was no bottle with blood and no bottle broken or anything like that [visible]."

Jenner, Lavigne and their crew were eventually escorted off the property. Jenner later filed a police report for assault with a deadly weapon; the men with whom he fought did not press charges.

Brody Jenner, Avril Lavigne take bar fight to the cops

Ask Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne: Sometimes date night in Hollywood can turn bloody.

After Jenner and Lavigne were involved in a bar fight at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, leaving both halves of the famous couple with injuries, police are now involved in the scuffle.

Though no specific location has been given, the two were reportedly partying on the premises when someone started some mess with Avril. Thanks to AFI Fest, the Roosevelt has seen A-list traffic all week long, and the joint plays host to popular lounges including the Spare Room.

Brody stepped in, apparently, to break up the scuffle and wound up taking a broken beer bottle to the head. Police and emergency response were called to the scene, but the only man left standing was Brody. He declined medical treatment on site, filed a police report, then drove himself to the hospital.

"Interesting Saturday night... Just got of the hospital with a new scar on my face.. Charges/chargers!!!" he tweeted.

Avril suffered worse, she said on Twitter, claiming a "black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts. So not ok to be abusive to others. Violence is NEVER the answer."

Jenner's manager released a statement Monday night: "Brody Jenner is recovering at home after being assaulted in an unprovoked attack this past Saturday night. He appreciates all the calls of support and well wishes. As this is an ongoing police investigation, there will be no further statements at this time."

So we wait to learn more after the police do their thing.

This poor girl. We know she's tough and scrappy, but she's still quite tiny and she obviously was unable to defend herself against such inexcusable violence.

A source has sent us this EXCLUSIVE PICTURE of Avril Lavigne, showcasing the damage done to her face from the bar brawl she was caught up in this weekend at the Roosevelt Hotel. As you can see, she suffered a really heavy blow to her eye, with a pretty deep gash just above the lid, as well as some nasty scratches on her cheek and face.

Our source reports that Avril is hanging in there and that she is thankful for her fans for all their love and support. We're also told that Avril hopes that this horrible ordeal will send a message to others and encourage them never to resort to such violence themselves and respect others despite any circumstance.

We've said it before and we'll never stop saying it: Violence is never the answer.

Avril Lavigne Bloodied and Beaten in Fight; Brody Jenner Hit with Bottle During Scuffle

Avril Lavigne got attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning by a handful of assailants, and while trying to break up the fight, her boyfriend Brody Jenner was hit over the head with a bottle, Gossip Cop has learned.

Lavigne was assaulted around 12:30 a.m. at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

The singer tweeted, “I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is f**ked.”

Lavigne explained she had a “black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts. So not ok to be abusive to others.”

And when Jenner attempted to break up the brawl, someone whacked him with a bottle.

Eventually, the fight was broken up by the hotel’s security before the participants fled the scene.

Jenner later told his side to the police, and went on his own to a hospital for treatment.

He tweeted afterwards, “Interesting Saturday night… Just got [out] of the hospital with a new scar on my face.”

While the night ended badly, Jenner had tweeted earlier in the evening, “Having the best night with the love of my life @AvrilLavigne so happy right now!”

Making for an eventful evening out on the town, Hollywood couple Avril Lavigneand Brody Jenner got a bit too rowdy for their own well-being while partying in Los Angeles on Saturday night (November 5).

The "Complicated" singer and her former reality TV star beau kicked things off at Chateau Marmont before heading over to Hotel Roosevelt - which is where the trouble took place.

According to reports, Miss Lavigne ended up engaging in a scuffle with another lady at the Tinseltown locale - with Jenner getting the worst of it while landing himself in the hospital after being hit in the head with a bottle.

Once Brody was struck, hotel security quickly jumped in to break up the chaos - with Brody giving police his version of the happenings before opting to seek medical treatment.

Mr Jenner took to Twitter after being discharged, as he wrote, “Interesting Saturday night… Just got [out] of the hospital with a new scar on my face.”
